Dr. Mariam King is a child clinical psychologist with a MS in Clinical Psychology, and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School for Professional Psychology. Dr. King has 20 years of experience in complex assessments for learning disorders including ASDs. She also serves on the staff of the Kalmanowitz Child Development Center at California Pacific Medical Center. At CDC her duties include working as a team member in the Whitney Clinic—a multidisciplinary clinic devoted to developmental follow-up of infants and toddlers and young children who have been discharged from the CPMC Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Dr. King has studied intensively at the Center for Therapeutic Assessment in Austin, TX and is part work to systematize and expand models of “collaborative psychological assessment” conceptualized by Connie Fisher, Ph.D., Steve Finn, Ph.D. and others. Through her work with TA community, Dr. King has become very interested in applying Attachment Theory to assessment and treatment. In her private life, Mariam enjoys performing classical music with a small chamber group of singers in the East Bay. When she is not singing or hiking she can often be found curled up on the couch with her head in a book.
