Shannon Oakes, MS, CCC-SLPLanguage and Communication Skills Coach, JSLTL

Shannon received her BA at UC Berkeley and her MS in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Emerson College in Boston. As a speech therapist, she has clinical experience working in hospital, public and private school settings. She currently has a private practice providing play-based therapy to students with a range of communication needs. In addition to providing individual therapy, she loves leading group social language sessions, helping her students to tune into the thoughts and feelings of their peers, cooperate as members of a group and build conversation skills to have meaningful friendships. Shannon is also a Hanen-certified SLP and has led the More than Words, It Takes Two to Talk, and Talkability workshops, coaching parents to promote interaction and language development in their children with ASD and other social communication difficulties.
